New Book

I am on the final stretch to the completion of my new book, " Painting Rivers Lakes and Streams."
Many thousands of words and 24 new paintings DONE....

Just tying up all loose ends prior to my publishers deadline at the end of this month......

Sadly I have not painted properly for a few weeks except demonstration pieces for students and art groups, just full on with writing.

So I hope that I shall be back to painting Wildlife and Plein Air studies very soon, that is in between packing for a house move in the new year...

Hah when does it ever slow down..... Need to paint more......

Painting Knife Workshop

The last Sunday I enjoyed teaching my last workshop of 2014 at my studio in Hythe, Kent.
It was a great day, hard work for all concerned. We managed nearly all that we set out to accomplish, though I did forget to serve the Keylime Pie for desert.... OOPS! had to take that home and eat later, sorry guys.

Anyway that said i managed a two hour acrylic demo  for the group. a 12 x 16 study of the secret garden at David Lloyds Great Dixter in Sussex.

That was the last demo and now I am working on my new workshop schedule for 2015.  I will post the dates soon on my website and here for all to see.

A Great Demo Today.

I did my annual demonstration to my local art society in Hythe....  today. I really look forward to this one each year. It also happens to be the last one I am scheduled to do in 2014. I painted a baby Elephant as they had asked for. It is not the one pictured above, a similar image of a baby running.

I had a great audience of around 70 + and they each had a real great time, and there were many sweet comments regarding the afternoon I provided. Heres looking forward to next year.

Thanks Hythe Art Society for inviting me once again.......

Painting hard and thinking ahead.

I have been so busy this past year not only teaching my students at my studio in Hythe, as well as all my many workshops, I have been concentrating upon my new book.  The new title from Search Press  is to be called   "Painting  Rivers Lakes and Streams" It has been a long road, and then end is not yet in sight. Yet I have to add my deadlines most certainly is.
I have been about 24 paintings for the new title, so it has left me a little short of time to complete new works, new wildlife paintings to offer the market. I will make up for this fact in 2015.

It follows on from my last book " Learn to paint Dogs and Puppies"

OK OK I am showing you the Italian version that came out during 2013.

I still have so much to complete upon the new title and really hope that I get it in before the deadline. I know my wife Catherine along with other good friends are pushing me rather hard, not to mention my editor.

Sure it will all work out.
